Admission at NIT Calicut
How to Join
Admission to the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is carried out through national-level entrance examinations and centralized counselling processes. Undergraduate admissions to B.Tech programmes are based on JEE (Main) Paper 1, while B.Arch admissions are through JEE (Main) Paper 2, followed by seat allocation via JoSAA and CSAB as per Government of India reservation norms. Admission to the Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) B.Sc.–B.Ed. is based on NCET scores.
Postgraduate admissions are conducted through national examinations depending on the programme: M.Tech and M.Plan through GATE via CCMT, M.Sc through JAM via CCMN, and MBA through CAT. NIT Calicut also offers admissions to international candidates through schemes such as DASA, ICCR Scholarships, and Study in India (SII), based on valid JEE (Main) ranks and eligibility criteria.
Doctoral (Ph.D.) admissions are offered across all departments under multiple schemes, including full-time, part-time, sponsored, internal, and external registrations. Selection to Ph.D. programmes is based on written tests and/or interviews conducted by the Institute and performance in national-level examinations such as GATE, NET, or equivalent, as applicable
